Impotent!

I once again hate the fact that I can predict how miserable it's likely to be, but that ability comes from knowing the cause and the cause is what it has always been for the past two years... Pellegrini! His tactics, his team sheets, his motivational skills, his vision, his substitutions, his choice of players to back, his excuses, his everything! Yes we have got a few older players and lots of games. Yes the players are underperforming. Yes we are in a transition faze that is unsettling. But as I have said for two years it's mainly down to old yellow eyes and I am just tired of saying it. As time has gone on his completely stupid football brain has put pay to any politeness his mild mannered decorum might initially command. He's just a football fool!

Kiev on Tuesday was dull and uninspiring, yes you can say all we had to do was get the job done, but it didn't even look like professionally seeing it out! Silva marginalised to the wing again was the first mistake! I once again for the umpteenth time state HE IS NOT A WINGER! At the start of the season we played him in the middle and we looked much better, for: HE IS A CENTRE MID! So instead of Silva in the middle we have Fernando and what a surprise we look like we couldn't imagine our way out of a paper bag! We are 3-1 up playing at home and we need two defensive centre mids in 4,5,1?? Now in taking Fernando off and moving Silva to the middle most pundits would assume the suggestion is for sterling but again I beat the Iheanacho drum! For god sake play him, put him on the wing, Utd are playing their youth and they are winning them derby's!

Then we have more bad luck as the two players you just don't want injured with the derby coming up get injured and the two biggest under performers are forced on to the pitch! Up until this season I thought we had got more than our money's worth out of Demichelis, but he has been taken a season too far in my opinion and has been pretty poor this season. He should be the guy who covers Kompany when he's out with his experienced old head, but not this season as his old head is making slow decisions and the legs below the head are now looking pretty old too! He also hasn't been able to bring Mangala through, something it looked like Kompany could do at the start of the season. Next season we need to go and pay whatever for an experienced centre half who still has it and give Kompany the season off to recover properly. I have said before I would get Godin if you could and if he wasn't such a twat someone like Terry would be ideal!

As far as the game was concerned there is nothing else to say apart from in the entertainment industry when they are touting 35 quid tickets I wouldn't  pay more than a fiver to see that if I wasn't a city fan! and even then!

Then the derby with an unusually late kick off which made the pre match atmosphere all that more drunken, which I enjoyed! However once the whistle was blown at 4pm there was nothing to enjoy! We were awful! Set up wrong again, where was Zaba? Sagna should have gone in the middle instead of Mangala, or Demichelis for that matter he is playing that bad! Indeed the best centre back yesterday was Fernandhinhio! Also again Iheanacho should have been on instead of sterling.

They were no better, just took their chance in what was the worst Derby I have seen in years highlighting how bad both clubs are playing at the moment. I can't bring myself to go into anymore detail about the game, so I won't as it's my blog!

I said weeks ago in a post I would deal then on top 3, no league, no Europe and look forward to next year! I would now deal on top 4, and that's all, right now! However knowing city we'll now go and finish 5th but win the champions league!! Anyway till next time and the rumour I pray is true is Pellegrini to United, how amazing would that be, if unlikely, as they injected themselves with this mild mannered football poison!!

What is this season?!

So you return from snatching victory out of the jaws of victory down south to face the scousers again only a few days later in their back yard, representing the 3rd game in a week, what with Europe. I went to the pub with my bro relatively optimistically and then that happened! Words that sprung to mind were: 'bollocks!', 'what the fuck!', 'you must me bloody kidding me!' Now I know we have got some older legs and that is 300 minutes of football in 7 days, but it still can't excuse that!

They had more fight, more belief, more motivation, more energy, more tenacity, more tactical awareness, more hunger, more desire, more swagger, just more! MUCH MORE!, and it was thoroughly depressing to watch! That is why he must go and soon I can put this two year axe I've been grinding back in the shed for now, knowing it has fallen and done what was needed! I don't want to say much more on this game or Grini apart from what the hell were those substitutions??!!

Anyway the weekend comes and thank god is bottom of the league and my god are they bottom of the league! They stank and the stench was so putrid we could smell it on the third tier! So bad we could even get away with 4,4,2 with Yaya, after his mid-week rest.

I genuinely felt sorry for the villa fans as I know how it is to helplessly be watching something like that unfold! Their team has already given up, the players don't care about villa it's plain to see, behind the scenes I imagine they are scrambling to deal their way into another premiership contract where the majority will undoubtedly just suck the positivity out of whoever is brave or foolish enough to give them another chance. Villa represent an old model of buying misfit has beens and untested foreigners (mainly French), that are only good for that piss poor league! We all now know that doesn't work and surely: the Leicester's, the Southampton's and the Bournemouth's etc have taught us there is another way! And thank God there is, because who the fuck wants to support that pile of shite running out for villa, it must be so soul destroying!

Even then however we couldn't get are act together in the first half with Bony showing how utterly useless he has become this season! For the life of me I don't know why he didn't start with Iheanacho!

The second half came and we finally caught a break for all our pressure and thankfully the flood gates opened as Villa showed their fragility and soon capitulated making stupid defensive decisions after stupid defence decisions, that saw the goals start to flood in, however they came! So we win 4-0 and the second half was entertaining but really it tells us nothing of where we are at!

So Norwich tomorrow and who knows! Yes they aren't great but it's that time of the year, they are fighting for their lives and fuck knows what city team will turn up! Then Kyiv soon after (hopefully we have done enough in the first leg!) and then only a week till the Derby, it's a big one even though we are both playing shit, I am already nervous and Jesus we better bloody beat them!

Anyway let's see what will happen and if the premiership has taught us anything this year it is: 'who know's what the hell's going to happen?'

Colin bell stand, Third tier.
